Every week on Monday the class decides a Classroom Culture Goal to work on and this week's was all about appropriate noise level in class and out in the halls. Ask your child to rate how they think we did this week!
In Math we have been playing with place value all the way up to hundred thousands. I also have been challenging them to create numbers in various different groupings of ones, tens, hundreds, thousands etc. I also have been doing some fun Math Talk lessons, where we discuss mental math strategies such as grouping by 10's when adding a string of numbers together or using our familiarity with addition doubles to help us do mental math quickly.
In Reading and Writing we have been working on following characters into meaning through text-to-self connections and walking in our character's shoes. They also set a reading stamina goal of 15 minutes without interruption and beat it both Thursday and Today by reading over 20 minutes! Excellent job!
Lastly, I have uploaded a few items on the Resource page including the Reading Log. I will hand out a physical copy Monday as well and go over it with the students.
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
